Halloween 2024 was supposed to be one of the happiest nights of my life. I had spent weeks planning the perfect couple’s costume with my boyfriend — a matching vampire and witch duo that symbolized our “unbreakable” bond. The night was full of laughter, flashing lights, and the scent of pumpkin spice in the air. But behind the masks and the music, something darker was brewing. When I couldn’t find him at the party, I wandered through the crowd — only to see him in the corner, holding hands with someone else. My heart sank when I realized it was my own sister.
That moment changed everything. What should have been a night of magic turned into one of heartbreak and disbelief. The sting of betrayal felt sharper than any Halloween chill, and the sight of them together is something I’ll never forget. As Halloween 2025 approaches, I can only hope for a celebration filled with healing and joy — one where the ghosts of the past finally fade away, and I can wear my costume with a genuine smile again.
